Chayotte

Chayote, also known as "vegetable pear" or "chow chow," is a green, pear-shaped vegetable that belongs to the gourd family. It has a smooth, slightly wrinkled skin and can be pale to dark green in color. The flesh inside is pale green or white, firm, and crisp when raw, with a mild, slightly sweet flavor. It contains a soft, edible seed in the center.
